Very few places in the whole world can match the nightlife of Mykonos. This fun nightlife has been going on for over 40 years and gets better and better.

The evening normally starts at around 8:00, when people go to the numerous bars of Little Venice to watch the sunset. After sunset another drink at the port for people watching is a lot of fun, followed by dinner in any of the hundreds of great restaurants. Bar hopping starts after dinner at around 11:00 or midnight and doesn't stop before 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning. At this point most people get the munchies from drinking too much and they head for a creperie, souvlaki place, or the port. The best souvlaki in town is at Fanis near the bus stop. The party animals continue by going to Cavo Paradiso above Paradise beach which opens just about when every other place closes down. Experiencing this at least once is highly recommended, and especially if there is a full moon.

Coco’s Club: on gay Super Paradise beach: drinks and food at high prices.
Diva: Great bar at Little Venice on the ocean. Sunset location. Lesbians very welcome. Meeting the owner Vangelio is quite an experience.
Icaros: Above Manto bar. Roof terrace. Quieter than other bars. Late night shows. A younger crowd during peak summer months.
Kastro’s: Classical music and relaxing atmosphere on Little Venice. Spectacular sunsets at cocktail hour.
Manto: Bar next to Pierro’s on gay square: newly redone interior.
Montparnasse: friendly Piano Bar with American style musical and sing along atmosphere. Quieter music at sunset. Also a gallery.
Pierro’s: Popular bar & disco on main street Matoyianni. A Gay landmark of repute. A large crowd gathers every evening here in & outside.
Pierro's Cafe: the succesful bar & disco above Pierro's: contemporary music, young crowd: packed in the summer from midnight till late.
Porta Bar: Intimate interconnecting bars with a large following. Early & later night crowd with good music & friendly atmosphere.
Caprice : On little Venice. Great fresh fruit cocktails. Impossible to move. Full of Athenian trendy brats. Action from 8:00 to 10 :00, and after dinner.
Bolero : Near Interni and Philippi. Late night dancing.
Aigli : See and be seen. Athenian trendies hanging out looking extremely blaze, and cool.
Astra : A long time favorite late night dancing spot. Also Athenian hangout for people who enjoy blowing money, and feeling important.
Aroma : Tiny bar/cafe for those who believe that coffee is worth a minimum of $3.
Scandinavian Bar : The name says it all. Cheap drinks, lots of foreigners. If Greeks are not your cup of tea this is the place to come.
Angyra : Great spot, great loud fun. Also open for breakfast from 9:00 till 3:00.
Uno : Tiny bar on Matoyanni st. Chic and trendy. Late night hang out.
Celebrities : fun
Aphros Cafe : Clean drinks at good prices. A locals' hangout.
Lotus : ***** MBN Favorite . Great people watching location, cozy, romantic, mostly serious drinking locals enjoying "clean" booze at great prices.
Cavo Paradiso : A Mykonian institution above Paradise beach. This place opens when everything else closes down! A human zoo.

Most restaurants have nice bars that you can hang out until very late. Every little alley seems to have a tiny bar, whose ambience varies from night to night. Follow your taste and mood.

An evening at Mando, the open air cinema is a lot of fun. It is considered by many as the most beautiful open air summer cinema in Greece, with a great selection of movies picked by the Mykonos Cultural Committee. It has a beautiful garden with a bar that serves drinks and snacks. There is a film program available, but it's only printed in Greek. Your hotel reception will be able to tell you what's playing.

If you would like to experience live Greek dancing, the place to go is Petinos restaurant on Platis Yalos beach. Every Wednesday and Saturday from 8:30 on.
